Ron Metz

Ron Metz was raised in Lockhart and attended Lockhart ISD Schools. After graduation, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Southwest Texas State University (now called Texas State). In high school and while going to college, he worked in various construction trades. After graduating from college he then worked in a family-owned construction business for many years. In 1988 he returned to school to earn a teaching certificate. So at the age of thirty-nine, he became a rookie teacher. The next twenty-three years were spent teaching all levels of mathematics at Luling High School. He also taught Sunday School in the youth department of our church for several years.

In 2013, he retired and has spent the last few years building various projects for grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as helping Texas Baptists on Mission in disaster relief and helping with the Texas Ramp Project.

I just wanted to let you know how completely impressed I am that you did not miss a beat when it came to my kids classes. You guys are awesome!

We LOVE Focus Prep, the Texas History class, and everything about it! I am hoping that [my son] will be able to join in some of the classes again next year!  Thank you all for everything you've done.
